Apple & Sausage Dressing With Pecans

INGREDIENTS:

2 6oz. bags of Mrs. Cubbison’s Seasoned Dressing
1 cup turkey bacon
2 cups chicken sausage with apples
3/4 cups celery chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 cups Granny Apples, coarsely chopped
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
3/4 cup light cream
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup pecans, chopped
2 tbsp. raisins
1 tbsp. thyme
1 tbsp. basil
2 tbsp. parsley, chopped
Salt & Pepper to taste

PROCEDURE:

1. Fry turkey bacon and the chicken sausage with apples. Drain and set aside
. 2. Place vinegar in saucepan and cook for 10 minutes. Add apples and continue cooking for approximately 10 minutes or until syrup consistency. Set aside.
3. Warm milk and cream until just slightly warm.
4. Saute celery in 1/4 cup butter for 1 minute, add onion and cook for one additional minute. Add remaining butter, parsley, basil, thyme, raisins, pecans, salt and pepper. Combine with the chicken sausage with apples, turkey bacon and apple mixture that you previously set aside.
5. Toss lightly into the Mrs. Cubbison’s Seasoned Dressing. Add the cream mixture.
6. Place in an 8" x 12" casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes.

Makes 14 1-cup servings.
