PEAR-WALNUT STUFFIN'

Ingredients:

¼ cup butter
½ cup celery, chopped
½ cup onion, chopped
2 large, firm Bartlett pears, coarsely chopped
1 box Mrs. Cubbison’s seasoned dressing or stuffing mix
1½ cups Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider
1 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Garnish – chopped fresh sage

Procedure:

Melt butter in saucepan, over medium heat. Add celery and onion; sauté 5 minutes, or until tender. Add pear; cook, stirring often, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat. In a large bowl, toss together all ingredients, except for garnish, tossing gently to combine. Spoon in to lightly greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Bake at 325° F, covered for 30 minutes; and uncovered for 20 additional minutes.

Yields: 8 cups
